STATE COLLEGE, PA (November 30, 2009) – Shinedown and Puddle of Mudd, two of the most successfully recognizable bands in the rock industry today, will join forces at the Bryce Jordan Center on Wednesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. with special guests Skillet.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. and can be purchased at the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Tickets Downtown, Penn State Altoona Campus, online at www.ticketmaster.com and www.bjc.psu.edu or charge by phone at (814) 865-5555.
A special $10 Student Price will be made available to all Penn State University Park students, courtesy of UPAC, and an exclusive Student Pre-Sale will be held this Wednesday, December 2 beginning at 12:00 PM. Students can purchase their $10.00 tickets at the HUB, Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium & Downtown Theatre.
Shinedown first made some noise back in 2003 with the release of its hugely successful debut album, Leave a Whisper (certified Platinum). The group has since released two more albums – Us and Them in 2005 (certified Gold) and the much anticipated The Sound of Madness in 2007.
The latter has become the band’s boldest and most successful release to date, featuring the smash hits “If You Only Knew” and “Second Chance.” Other hit singles like “45,” “Devour,” and “I Dare You” have given Shinedown one of the most noticable sounds in music today.
As if that’s not enough rock for one night, Shinedown will be joined by co-headliner Puddle of Mudd, another one of rock’s mainstream mainstays since their debut album, Coming Clean, sold 5 Million copies back in 2001. The group has gone on to release two more highly-successful albums – Life on Display in 2003 and Famous in 2007. They are now gearing up for the release of their fourth studio album, Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate.
Puddle of Mudd received seemingly non-stop airplay in 2002, following the release of the hit single, “She Hates Me,” but other songs like “Blurry” and “Psycho” were equally as successful. Overall, the quartet has had eight songs reach the Top-10 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, five of which reached No.1.
Special guests Skillet have already toured with the likes of Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether and Flyleaf and also had a solo, headlining tour within Pollstar's Concert Pulse Top 50 Tours for 2008. Along the way, the Grammy-nominated alternative outfit also scored three top 40 singles on Billboard's Mainstream Rock charts, earned a pair of BMI Songwriting Awards and in 2008 released a concert CD/DVD combo pack called Comatose Comes Alive. They are currently out in support of their new studio album, Awake.
